Noting that wealthier Americans would indeed pay more, Biden said: "It's time to be patriotic ... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut."

Americans can voluntarily pay more taxes if they feel like being more "patriotic" than the government requires. However, the "voluntary" account only receives approximately $2,000,000 a year. Where are the Kennedy's, the Kerry's, George Soros, the Clinton's, the Obama's, and Joe Biden (who gave on average over the last ten years less than $400 a year to charity)?

1774 - In response to the Boston Tea Party, Parliament passes a set of laws known as the Intolerable (or Coercive) Act. In July, Thomas Jefferson writes A Summary View of the Right of British America. With the Declaration and Resolves, adopted on October 14, the First Continental Congress unanimously agrees that the British Parliament has no right to impose taxes or other laws on unrepresented colonists. The Association, adopted on October 20, provides for the election of popular committees of inspection to enforce the proposed commercial boycott of British goods.
