Sandy & Edie's Big Blog Adventure

Sandy and Edie are sisters with an interest at trying their writing skills in the cyber community. Blogging is becoming a very popular hobby and, though Sandy and Edie usually do not jump aboard the newest trend train, this is one they have decided to travel on and see where it takes them. Hopefully, there will be a mixture of fun, reflective moments, spiritual insight, political awareness, and trivial matters. In other words, something for everyone.

Our first endeavor will be to share our Cruisin’ Chicks Summer 08 Vacation Tour, a.k.a., Sandy and Edie’s Tour of America, volume one -- sorry, it's sold out. We are leaving in a few days to go to Buffalo, New York, to visit family. When we first discussed this trip, it was going to be done by plane; five to six hours there and five to six hours back to southern Nevada where we live. But further discussion prompted us to make it a road trip and that’s our final answer.

This trip comes at a time when gas prices are at an all-time high and many people have canceled lengthy summer vacations to stay home, or at least, stay close to home. Since we normally avoid most trends, like the “stay-at-home” gas trend, we see no reason to let a little matter like high gas prices stop us. No, we’re not rich, but perhaps we can find other areas to cut back on, though don’t expect it to be our Diet Coke fund. Regardless of gas prices, or perhaps, in spite of them, our vacation is still going as scheduled. Gas prices will either drop in the future and this road trip will be the first of many, or gas prices will rise even higher and we will have this one vacation to reflect on and entertain us for years to come. Hopefully, it will be a bit of both.
