President Urkel and the Gadianton Gang

Below is a link to part one of a four part series regarding prophecies of the last days. We will post a link to part 2 tomorrow.

Our Awful Situation 1 of 4:

Secret Combinations Above Us

The New York Post published an article about Obama's first hundred days in office. The article outlines 100 mistakes Obama has made in his first hundred days in office. We will post ten mistakes per day for the next ten days.

100 DAYS, 100 MISTAKES

JOE SCARBOROUGH, GLENN BECK AND OTHERS ON OBAMA'S SHORT, ERROR-PRONE TIME IN OFFICE

1. "Obama criticized pork barrel spending in the form of 'earmarks,' urging changes in the way that Congress adopts the spending proposals. Then he signed a spending bill that contains nearly 9,000 of them, some that members of his own staff shoved in last year when they were still members of Congress. 'Let there be no doubt, this piece of legislation must mark an end to the old way of doing business, and the beginning of a new era of responsibility and accountability,' Obama said." -- McClatchy, 3/11

2. "There is no doubt that we've been living beyond our means and we're going to have to make some adjustments." -- Obama during the campaign.

3. This year's budget deficit: $1.5 trillion.

4. Asks his Cabinet to cut costs in their departments by $100 million -- a whopping .0027%!

5. "The White House says the president is unaware of the tea parties." -- ABC News, 4/15

6. "Mr. Obama is an accomplished orator but is becoming known in America as the 'teleprompt president' over his reliance on the machine when he gives a speech." -- Sky News, 3/18

7. In early February, the 2010 census was moved out of the Department of Commerce and into the White House, politicizing how federal aid is distributed and electoral districts are drawn.

8. Obama taps Nancy Killefer for a new administration job, First Chief Performance Officer -- to police government spending. But it surfaces that Killefer had performance issues of her own -- a tax lien was slapped on her DC home in 2005 for failure to pay unemployment compensation tax on household help. She withdrew.

9. Turkey tried to block the appointment of Anders Fogh Rasmussen as new NATO secretary general because he didn't properly punish the Danish cartoonist who caricatured Mohammed. France's Nicolas Sarkozy and Germany's Angela Merkel were outraged; Obama said he supported Turkey's induction into the European Union.

10. . . . and he never mentioned the Armenian genocide.

Benedict Arlen

Benedict Arlen -- Great name for Arlen Specter, but we can't take credit for it as we got it off a Fox News show last night. Arlen Specter, Senator from Pennsylvania, has decided to leave the Republican party for the Democrat party putting the Democrats one vote closer to a filibuster-proof senate. It would be a big deal if Arlen had actually ever been a Republican, but he's always acted like a Democrat so how will we know the difference. He was one of the three Republicans who voted with the Democrats for the stimulus package that hasn't stimulated anything but debt growth.

Harry Reid stated that the Republicans appeared to have no use for Specter and the Democrats would gladly take him. In a letter that Edie wrote to Harry Reid last night, she told him that the Democrats were welcome to have a wishy-washy, disloyal, self-serving senator like Arlen Specter anytime--we won't miss him. By Specter's own admission, this was completely a political move for him as he was not going to get re-elected by Republicans in Pennsylvania. He has been a senator for 29 years; shouldn't a public official realize that when the people no longer support him, it's time to move out of public service and find something else to do?

Harry Reid has also said that he will campaign for Arlen Specter in 2010 when Specter is up for re-election. In the above-mentioned letter that Edie wrote to Harry she thanked him for doing that; since no one can stand Harry, his support of Specter can only help the Republican candidate.

Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, the president of Club for Growth, is the Republican challenger who is leading Arlen Specter by 20 points among Republicans. Rather than meet in the primary elections, Specter and Toomey will now meet in the general election. Pat Toomey seems to be a real conservative who believes in fiscal responsibility and less government. What a refreshing change that would be to our current senate.

According to their website, Club for Growth "is a national network of thousands of Americans from all walks of life, who believe that prosperity and opportunity come through economic freedom." You can find out more about them by going to http://www.clubforgrowth.org/

Can We Re-Gift This Gift?

As if there aren't enough reasons to not vote for Harry Reid. Now we find out that he encouraged Barack Obama to run for president. Another example of Reid's poor judgment.

Reid says Obama told him, 'I have a gift'

By KEVIN FREKING, Associated Press Writer Kevin Freking, Associated Press Writer – Mon Apr 27, 5:09 am ET

WASHINGTON – Everyone knows President Barack Obama can deliver a great speech, including the president himself, according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The paperback version of Reid's book, "The Good Fight," is coming out May 5 with an epilogue called "The Obama Era." Reid said he was impressed when Obama, then a freshman senator from Illinois, delivered a speech about President George W. Bush's war policy.

Reid, D-Nev., writes: "'That speech was phenomenal, Barack,' I told him. And I will never forget his response. Without the barest hint of braggadocio or conceit, and with what I would describe as deep humility, he said quietly: 'I have a gift, Harry.'"

A copy of the book's 15-page epilogue was provided to The Associated Press.
Reid said he talked to Obama in 2006 about running for president, and that Obama expressed doubts about his ability to win.

"I was resolved to stay neutral in the coming campaign, but I told him that in my view the stars could align for him. 'If you want to be president, you can be president now,' I said. 'I don't know, Harry,' he said. 'I don't think so.'"

Can the Government Read Your Mind?

We believe all people should be treated equally and do not believe that any person or group of people should be given a special protection status. Bill H.R. 1913, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, is being debated in House Judiciary Committee hearings this week. This legalisation is designed to add "sexual orientation," gender" and "gender identity" as specially protected categories of persons under federal law. Representatives from The Traditional Values Coalition sat in on the hearings. Listed below are the results of some of the discussions from yesterday's hearing, as reported by the TVC.

In the findings portion of the bill, the liberals stated that homosexuals and cross dressing individuals were being forced to flee across state lines to avoid persecution, thus making the case for federal protection under the interstate commerce clause. During the hearings yesterday, they had to admit defeat on the phony "findings" to justify passage of the bill, and these findings were deleted from the bill.

Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) was visibly shaken and upset by a series of questions about sexual orientation and gender identity. She refused to define what gender or “gender identity” might mean in the law. She was repeatedly asked to define these terms and she danced around giving a real answer.

Democrats refused to add members of the military, seniors, unborn babies, pregnant women, and Americans targeted by illegals as protected classes under this hate crimes bill.

Democrats admitted that “animus” – or what a person thinks – is the basis for enhanced penalties against homosexuals, bisexuals, and transsexuals. They have admitted that this is a thought crime bill! People will be punished for what they think!

Rep. Gerald Nadler (D-NY) admitted that this bill is designed to raise the penalties for crimes against these specially protected groups! This is unequal protection under the law. Nadler’s specially-protected groups are more valuable than soldiers, the elderly, pregnant women, or unborn babies.

The recent controversy surrounding the Miss USA pageant should serve as an example as to why special protection for certain groups of people is not needed. Because Miss California was honest with her comments about her feelings on gay marriage, Perez Hilton, and openly gay man, gave her a score of zero on that portion of the contest. Miss California was chosen as the first runner up to Miss USA. The argument could be made that had it not been for Mr. Hilton's score of zero, Miss California would have won the Miss USA contest. Furthermore, Mr. Hilton then made several nasty and mean spirited remarks about Miss California, for which he refused to apologize. Where was the protection for Miss California?

Please contact your elected representatives and tell them to vote no on H.R. 1913.

Pull the Plug On the Government Life Support

It appears that Americans aren't the only people dissatisfied with their government. A British blogger ranted this week that the Britsh MPs are extending their annual summer holiday to three months. During the worst economic crisis in our lifetime, this government has decided to spend one-quarter of their work year away from the office. Hmmm... maybe that's not a bad idea for any government. Being less involved in governing might actually be the solution to the economic crisis.

Seriously, we're beginning to believe that the federal government politicians are the biggest welfare recipients in the country. They voted a pay raise for themselves this year while doing little to nothing for their money. Many of these people have been in government so long that they wouldn't survive in the real world without our taxpayer handout. Fortunately for them, their cushy retirement plan means they'll never be without our money.

Here's another universal healthcare horror story:

From Brilliant Boyle to Festering Boils

If you have not heard of Susan Boyle by now, then you are definitely in the minority. She is a 48-year old Scottish woman whose singing audition for Britain's Got Talent became an overnight YouTube sensation. Here is the video link in case you are one of the few people in the world who have not yet heard of Susan Boyle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

The media has described Ms. Boyle as frumpy; she confesses that she has never been kissed. That may be part of her charm; her appearance is so understated that you don't expect the beautiful singing that comes out when she opens her mouth. Just goes to further prove the old adage that we shouldn't judge books by their covers.

Ms. Boyle has stated that she was teased as a child; her recent fame has encouraged the tormentors to be much kinder to their tormentee (can anyone say 'shallow'?). Isn't that the way it always seems to be? The beam is usually bigger in the eye of the tormentor than the mote they mock in the tormented. It's too bad that we don't spend as much time looking for the gifts in others as we seem to spend looking for the flaws.

Piers Morgan, one of the judges on Britain's Got Talent, was interviewed about Ms. Boyle's audition. He said her audition came after eight long hours of talentless people trying to get on the show; they weren't expecting anything more from Ms. Boyle. He now believes that she can do whatever she wants; he also believes that Simon Cowell is probably already drawing up contracts for her to sign with his music production company.

Mr. Morgan, bless his heart, had this post on his official website: "As for Susan Boyle, I have some dramatic breaking news: she has accepted my offer of a date, during a live interview with American chat show star Larry King, and we are going to be dining in a romantic London restaurant very soon."

Speaking of politics (how's that for a segue), Mitt Romney has a very good article today about President Obama's foreign policy (or complete lack thereof). http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ZTYyYzEzMzBhNTgzMTBkZTk1N2I0MDIxZGMxN2Q3MDM=

Is this an Easter miracle? The very liberal Ninth Circuit Court which covers many western states has stated the following about gun rights: "Some may disagree with the decision of the Founders to enshrine a given right in the Constitution. If so, then the people can amend the document. But such amendments are not for the courts to ordain."

Home Sweet Home

Jonas packed and ready to travel

We're back from nine wonderful days at our home in Southern Utah. We were able to get quite a bit done. We loaded up the trailer on the back of Dean's truck with trash from the yard and the house (an old door, old coffee table, old chair, two twin bed frames that were falling apart, etc.) and made a trip to the landfill outside of Cedar City. (note to self ~ do everything possible to avoid another trip to the landfill.) We weren't sure if there was enough hand sanitizer in the world after the landfill excursion, but after disinfecting ourselves as much as possible, the four of us (Edie, Sandy, sister Gladys, and brother-in-law Dean) enjoyed a tasty lunch at Wingers. On Wednesday, Dean and Gladys left Utah and headed back to their home in North Las Vegas.

While we sewed and crocheted, we watched the Tea Party coverage on Wednesday. We were amazed at the size of the crowds at the Tea Party events across the country. We were also amazed at how the mainstream media and liberal politicians tried their best to downplay the participation. We heard Nancy Pelosi comment that the tea parties were not part of a grassroot effort, but rather more like AstroTurf. Huh? She went on to say that the events were organized by Fox News and the rich folks of the United States. She's either stupid and totally ignorant or just an out and out liar or both. We vote for all of the above. Susan Roesgen, a CNN reporter, tried her best to make the participants looked uninformed, but she received her comeuppance after the CNN cameras quit recording. Founding Bloggers filmed that episode and posted it on You Tube. The link below will take you to that video. CNN has been trying to force You Tube to take down the Founding Bloggers footage since it also contains some of CNN's footage, but as of right now, it's still posted on You Tube.

Even though we tried to spend the rest of our time in Utah relaxing and enjoying our hobbies, we managed to go through some more of the stuff in our house to donate to the hometown garage sale that will take place in June. We hated to leave yesterday, but we're back in Henderson nonetheless. We look forward to the day when the majority of our time is spent in Utah.

Utah or Bust

H A P P Y
E A S T E R

We will be heading up north today to our Southern Utah home. We will be joined there by our sister, Gladys, and her husband, Dean. We hope to accomplish several things during our visit: yard work, painting, and cleaning as well as sewing, crocheting, and relaxing. We will be without internet access until Monday, April 20, so we will not post to this blog again until then.

Sandy's grandson, Jonas, trying on bunny ears at Target.

As we prepare to celebrate Easter, we recognize the fun aspect of the holiday for the children. Dying hard boiled eggs, Easter egg hunts, and eating chocolate and jelly beans are enjoyable activities for young and old alike. More importantly, however, we are mindful of our Savior who, in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross, suffered and died for our sins. Without the atonement of Jesus Christ, we would be a lost and fallen people without any hope of eternal salvation. How grateful we are for our Savior and Redeemer. He is the reason we celebrate Easter, and it is only through his mercy that we have the opportunity to return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven. It is important to remember Him always, but even more so this weekend as we commemorate His selfless act for us.

You Say You Want A Revolution...

The tea party grassroots movement has caught fire and is moving across the country like a raging inferno. Tea party participants have come together to show their opposition to rising taxes, big government control over private businesses, and the citizens’ loss of liberty. The mainstream media, however, seems to be ignoring the phenomena altogether. Just as they’ve done in the past with Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity, the liberals’ tactic is to ridicule and attack the tea party participants. According to Michelle Malkin, “Bob Beckel appeared on Fox News yesterday morning to sneer at the nationwide event. He derided tax revolters in Montana, joking that ‘It was a good thing it wasn’t a vodka party, because I guarantee you they all had guns.’” Was this Beckel’s attempt to paint the tea party participants with a hillbilly, backwoods brush?

Why have “we the people” become so involved in the tea party movement? During the campaign, Obama attacked George Bush’s deficit spending. Since the inauguration, the deficits being created by the Obama administration make Bush’s spending look like change found under the couch cushions. During the campaign, the Obama team attacked Joe the Plumber when he warned America about Obama’s plans to “spread the wealth around.” Since the inauguration, Obama has engaged in class warfare and promised higher taxes for anyone who makes over $250,000 a year. During the campaign, Obama promised not to appoint any lobbyists to his cabinet. Twenty-four hours after the inauguration, Obama broke that promise—not just once, but many times over. During the campaign, Obama denied being the most liberal member of the Senate. After the inauguration and in an attempt to grow the size of our government to keep us firmly on the road to socialism, Obama initiated the biggest takeover of private enterprise this country has seen, even demanding the resignation of a CEO of General Motors because of bonuses paid to its executives. Did you hear Obama demand that the heads of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac resign? Did you hear Obama deride the fact that the top executives of those two failed companies received taxpayer-funded bonuses just within the last couple of weeks? You didn’t? Neither did we. Remember when the anti-war protesters’ mantra was “Bush lied and people died”? Well Obama lied and our country as we know it is going to die if we don’t take it back.

Thank heavens the American people are waking up. Reportedly, there will be thousands of people all over the country participating in the tea parties next week. You won’t see much coverage from the mainstream media, except maybe to downplay the events; but Fox News will be covering the April 15th demonstrations. Unfortunately, our elected representatives on Gadianton Hill haven’t shown much interest in listening to “we the people.” Keep track of how the representatives from your area vote, and show your approval or disappointment in their actions at the polls in 2010.

What's Happening to America?

President Obama has called on the United Nations Security Council for strong action against North Korea's weekend missile launch. In typical U.N. fashion, their bold action towards North Korea has been... crickets. Nothing, nada, silence. Did anyone expect any more than that from the U.N.? And what if they do decide to respond? What will the response be? Perhaps something like "we are so angry at you!" Boy, that will show them. We all know how Kim Jong Il hates disappointing and upsetting other nations.

Which brings us to the crux of the problem. North Korea doesn't care if we despise them, and they don't care if the U.N. is mad at them. And President Obama, apparently, is going to do nothing more than chastise them, right after he apologizes to the rest of the world for America. We don't know about you, but we don't like our president going to other nations and apologizing for us, especially when it's unnecessary and uncalled for. We didn't hear any Europeans commenting after "the apology tour" with "hey, no apology needed. After all, America has saved our butts more times than we can count." You didn't hear that? Yeah, neither did we. So, who's arrogant now?

Speaking of arrogant, President Urkel wants to kum-bah-ya his way to a no-nukes world; great gig if you can get it, but we don't really believe that Kim Jong Il is going to join him at the campfire and sing with him. President Urkel appears to believe the press about him being the Messiah. He's going to bring the world together, heal the sick, and feed the hungry. While he's doing all that, be sure and pay attention to the guy behind the curtain; you know, the one who will still be shooting missiles because he didn't care that the U.N. was mad at him.

Back to the U.N. -- why do we still belong to them? We pay the majority of their bills and house them. For what? So they have a place to get their mail? We're spending a lot of money for them to have a P.O. box. Because it's apparent that they have no power to stop anyone who wants to abuse their power; not Kim Jong Il, not Hugo Chavez, and not Fidel Castro. It seems to us that the only people they want to control are Americans. They want to tell us how and when to use capital punishment, how to parent, and when and where we can attack an evil regime. And our leaders are so stupid that they will actually listen to the U.N. That's because we are a nation of laws and if we sign on to something, we take it seriously. All the more reason that we should be careful what we sign with the U.N.

On the other hand, lawless, ungoverned leaders have no use for the laws and government of the U.N. or any other country. Lawless, ungoverned leaders believe that they are the law, so no other law means anything to them.

The following are excerpts from Jennifer Rubin's article at commentarymagazine.com (http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/rubin/61541)

"And what about the 'international community' and the UN, whose company Obama craves? Well, their inability to do anything have made them useless. As Charles Krauthammer aptly put it: 'If he had gone to Oz it would have had more effectiveness.'”

"The bad news: our enemies profit by ineffectiveness and move ahead with their designs while we dither. Dimitri Medvedev may call Obama his 'new comrade,' but he’s not about to agree to sanctions against North Korea. And Iran is watching and learning just how unresponsive to provocations the new president is. Their nuclear program moves ahead. One wonders what it will take for Obama to get real."

On a different note, Daniel Hannan, who is quickly becoming one of our favorite Brit's, wrote to Americans about Universal Healthcare, urging us not to adopt it. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/daniel_hannan/blog/2009/04/06/americans_dont_copy_the_british_healthcare_system

Do As I Say, Not As I Do

We've written before about the hypocrisy of the Obama administration. Carol Platt Liebau wrote a column today for Townhall.com that sums it up perfectly. Please click on the link below to read the article.

Hopefully, a much needed spotlight is about to be shone on ACORN. Three states have brought charges against ACORN for voter fraud and more states have questioned the legality of ACORN's practices. In the three cases where charges were filed, ACORN settled out of court. The top tier of ACORN's administration has stated that the voter fraud was caused by over-eager, low-level employees and that registering people to vote who were already registered, along with other illegalities, were not accepted practices of ACORN. As our dad used to say, "Where there's smoke, there's fire." There's enough smoke surrounding ACORN to cover the planet. Congressman John Conyers is calling for a full investigation into ACORN's role in the presidential election and beyond. To read an article on this topic, please click on the link below.

We are Not Alone

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

-Isaiah 41:10-

Sadly, there have been several killings in this nation over the past few days. Initial reports indicate that the killers' motives in a couple of the shootings may have something to do with job loss due to the economy.

We're seeing signs of fear and anger all around us. Citizens are picketing their governments; and neighbors are killing neighbors, or, in a couple of cases, a family member is killing other family members. The fear of the future and anger at those who are believed to have caused the current mess are pushing people to actions, often violent, that have only been witnessed on rare occasions in the past.

A few months ago we witnessed what is now known as the miracle on the Hudson, when Captain Sullenberg performed an emergency airplane landing on the Hudson river and every passenger and crew member survived. We were reminded that miracles do still occur and that we are not alone.

We heard messages from our religious leaders yesterday and today during the LDS general conference reminding us that we are not alone and the Lord still performs miracles. Regardless of the chaos that we see in the world, we can still be filled with peace. To read these messages, please go to http://www.lds.org/.

Yesterday morning the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang "Israel, Israel God is Calling". This song is a message all of its own. The wheat and tares are almost ready to be divided. The tares (wicked) will be bundled and burned while the wheat (righteous) will be harvested in a safe place. We hope that we are among the wheat who are harvested.

You can hear the tune, or hear it being sung, and see the sheet music at this site: http://www.lds.org/churchmusic/detailmusicPlayer/index.html?searchlanguage=1&searchcollection=1&searchseqstart=7&searchsubseqstart=%20&searchseqend=7&searchsubseqend=ZZZ

Below are the words. As the song states, angels are descending, Babylon is getting ready to fall, and the coming of the Lord is nigh. We are not alone.

Israel, Israel, God Is Calling
Richard Smyth

Israel, Israel, God is calling, Calling thee from lands of woe:
Babylon the great is falling. God shall all her towers o'erthrow.
Come to Zion, come to Zion Ere his floods of anger flow.
Come to Zion, come to Zion Ere his floods of anger flow.

Israel, Israel, God is speaking; Hear your great Deliverer's voice!
Now a glorious morn is breaking For the people of his choice.
Come to Zion, come to Zion, And within her walls rejoice.
Come to Zion, come to Zion, And within her walls rejoice.

Israel, angels are descending From celestial worlds on high,
And to man their power extending, That the Saints may homeward fly.
Come to Zion, come to Zion, For your coming Lord is nigh.
Come to Zion, come to Zion, For your coming Lord is nigh.

Israel! Israel! canst thou linger Still in error's gloomy ways?
Mark how judgment's pointing finger Justifies no vain delays.
Come to Zion, come to Zion! Zion's walls shall ring with praise.
Come to Zion, come to Zion! Zion's walls shall ring with praise.

Obama Needs a Time-out

"Communism introduced into the world a substitute for true religion. The false prophets of Communism predict a utopian society. This, they proclaim, will only be brought about as capitalism and free enterprise are overthrown, private property abolished, the family as a social unit eliminated, all classes abolished, all governments overthrown, and a communal ownership of property in a classless, stateless society established. Since 1917 this godless counterfeit has made tremendous progress toward its objective of world domination.

"Today, we are in a battle for the bodies and souls of man. It is a battle between two opposing systems: freedom and slavery, Christ and anti-Christ. The struggle is more momentous than a decade ago, yet today the conventional wisdom says, 'You must learn to live with Communism and to give up your ideas about national sovereignty.' Tell that to the millions—yes, the scores of millions—who have met death or imprisonment under the tyranny of Communism! Such would be the death knell of freedom and all we hold dear." -Ezra Taft Benson-

Yesterday we posted the link to part 1 of an article by Richard Eyre regarding the economy and and an anology between bad parenting and the Obama administration. The link below will take you to part 2 entitled A Different Take on the Economy: Part Two of Two: The Real Cause.

Bad Parenting

Richard Eyre has written an article in which he uses the analogy of the Obama administration being the same as bad parents. He begins his article with the following:

"The 'bail outs' and 'rescue plans' we see springing up and expanding every day remind me of bad parenting. It's like mom and dad have a kid who keeps screwing up, and they keep bailing him out, getting him off the hook, paying for his mistakes."

He has written the article in two parts. Below is the link to part 1.

With the economy in such a mess, the entrepreneurial spirit is coming out in full bloom, so to speak.

It's Enough to Make Your Head Spin...

Why is it that whenever liberals try to bring about "fairness", things always become even less "fair"? Liberals believe that there is currently a division among the classes in this nation; however, their governing just throws more explosives at class warfare, which creates deeper trenches of division. On Monday, Glenn Beck interviewed Connecticut Attorney General, Richard Blumenthal, regarding the AIG bonuses that were paid in Connecticut. Mr. Blumenthal, acting in his official role as AG, is trying to get the bonus money back. Glenn Beck asked this simple question to Mr. Blumenthal: "What law did the AIG executives break?" Mr. Blumenthal was like a deer in the headlights; clearly, no one had asked him that question and he had no answer. People have been more concerned about the money than the law. It's okay and even patriotic for the American people to question where there tax money is going. It's not okay, and is a form of tyranny, for an elected official who is sworn to uphold the law to become involved in situations in which no law has been broken. It appears that Mr. Blumenthal is paving his political path by trying to gain the favor of the people of Connecticut for future elections.

As you can imagine, Mr. Blumenthal had no answer for Glenn's question. That's because the AIG executives broke no laws. Mr. Blumenthal was clearly befuddled by Glenn's question and, finally, after much stammering decided to use "public policy" as the reason for pursuing the bonuses. Turns out, there is no such public policy.

Here's further analysis of the debate on Glenn's radio show:

Yesterday, the day after the Beck/Blumenthal debate, Glenn had an attorney on his show who reviewed the tape from the day before. She called Mr. Blumenthal's bluff on every point. It would behoove every Connecticut resident to carefully assess Mr. Blumenthal's qualifications as a future politician. It's evident that he either doesn't mind making up laws as he goes along or he doesn't know the law at all; either way, any Blumenthal candidacy is worth careful scrutiny.

It also serves as a reminder to all Americans that we have to stay connected to what our politicians are doing. Glenn Beck is the only person who asked Attorney General Blumenthal to cite the law he was upholding. It's our job as Americans to make sure our politicians are ethical and law-abiding.

Where is the "count" in accountability?

Allegedly, Tim Geithner's math is off by about $100 billion dollars when computing how much bailout money is left. We'll let you decide whether or not his calculator is broken:
