Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), via his Twitter account, lashing out at Obama for traveling abroad while legislators were left working on Obama?s health care plan over the weekend: "Pres Obama while u sightseeing in Paris u said 'time to delivr on healthcare' When you are a 'hammer' u think evrything is NAIL I'm no NAIL."

We're hearing today that all but one of the Republican senators on the Finance Committee shot down the idea of Obama's public health care plan, which means that he will have to reconsider his dreams of bipartisanship. Democrats are also divided, making negotiations about the controversial legislation even more iffy. Obama is pushing lawmakers to finish health care reform before the summer. We're hoping that this latest news will stall it forever.

We're also glad to hear that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg has stalled the sale of Chrysler to Fiat after multiple lawsuits were launched by Indiana state pension and construction funds, as well as from consumer groups. The major complaint is that the deal favors unsecured stakeholders as opposed to secured debt holders, and the constitutionality of the company's assistance from the the bailout money. Justice Ginsberg ruled that these suits have merit, so negotiators will have to rethink the ownership redistribution of Chrysler. Obama can't be happy about this move, since he admitted that he owes the unions for helping him get reelected, and the unions were getting a sweetheart deal in the bankruptcy reconfiguring.

Obama keeps saying that all of this government spending will create and/or save hundreds of thousands of jobs. The Department of Labor reported that 345,000 jobs were lost in May. Maybe Obama needs a new calculator, because something isn't adding up.
