Did Anyone Get the License Plate of the Bus?

Why is it that every time Barack Obama goes overseas, Americans are left feeling like they were just run over by a bus? His now-famous apology tour was the first time he spoke to Europeans after his coronation in January. Many of us were left wondering why we have to apologize to people whose lives (or, at least the lives of their ancestors) have been literally saved by Americans several times. They would all be speaking German right now if the Americans hadn't shown up to help them during World War II.

Now Obama is in the middle east telling them that it's not America's place to dictate to them how they live their lives and, for now on, we will stop dictating and start listening. What is it that we will be hearing in this listening mode? More planes flying into buildings? Suicide bombers exploding in crowded market places?

Evidently the end of America's "dictating" will apply to everyone but Israel. As Charles Krauthammer explains: "Israel is ordered to freeze all settlement activity. As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton imperiously explained the diktat: 'a stop to settlements -- not some settlements, not outposts, not natural-growth exceptions.'"

The Obama bus: never saw an American or Jew it didn't want to run over.
