There's snow in the desert. Yesterday was a wet day in
Las Vegas. Parts of the valley saw rain while the northwest part of town saw snow. Snow in
Las Vegas isn't that common, especially the kind that sticks to the ground. It makes for treacherous driving, because no one in
Las Vegas is prepared to drive in snow. However, the mountains surrounding the valley are very pretty today. The picture below is of the football field at Centennial High School.
We realize that this will look like no big deal to those of you from places where it really snows, but since we live in the desert, it's somewhat of a big deal to us. The link below will take you to an article and photos in the Las Vegas Review Journal newspaper about the unusual snowfall:
