A Battle of Wits with an Unarmed DCCC

Several days ago Sean Hannity interviewed Rush Limbaugh for Sean's television show on the Fox News channel. Sean asked Rush if he wanted Obama to succeed as president. Rush replied (and we're paraphrasing) that he did not want Obama's left-wing, socialist agenda to succeed. Now the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is sponsoring a petition for people to write Rush Limbaugh regarding their outrage over Rush's remarks that President Obama fail. They say they are going to make sure that Rush gets the remarks.

Rush Limbaugh is never to be outdone. The following is on his website:

Rush Responds to Democrat E-mail Petition Against Him: "I am greatly puzzled. Why would the Democrats petition against me if I am doing such terrible damage to the GOP? "

Reverse Petition: Click here to tell the DCCC and all other Democrats it is time to stop lying about and distorting Rush's comments on Barack Obama's War on Prosperity.

Using Rush's online petition, both of us sent our comments to the DCCC. Below are Edie's comments:

Dear DCCC:
I find it absolutely disgusting that you would attack Rush Limbaugh, a private citizen, for exercising his freedom of speech. You must be scared to death of what he can do to your president to go after him in such a way. Quite frankly, I'm scared to death of what Barack Obama is going to do to this nation. Like Rush, I too hope that President Obama fails in putting through all his socialist plans. And Rush didn't tell me to feel that way -- I thought of it all on my own before Rush ever expressed his feelings. During the campaign, Americans were excoriated for disagreeing with Barack Obama. We were told we were racists, as if we couldn't possibly be smart enough, or maybe just simple enough, to just disagree with his policies -- and, unlike Rush, Obama is a public figure, open to our judgments and criticism. So, because you can't stand the heat of exposure to the light of truth, you're going to shout down the rest of us and try to silence our concerns. So much for the Democrat's campaign of bipartisanship and open politics.

And these are Sandy's comments:

I'm sending these comments in response to the petition the DCCC has started to send to Rush Limbaugh. Rush stated that he hopes Obama's left wing, socialist agenda is a failure. I agree with Mr. Limbaugh. If Obama will temper the items that he hopes to accomplish while president for the next four years to more closely align with the Constitution, then I would hope that he would succeed with those goals. However, as his stated goals stand now, I'm with Mr. Limbaugh. The Democrat party should take a lesson from what happened when Harry Reid tried to distort Rush's words. Rush proved he is much smarter than Harry, and Harry looked like a fool. The DCCC can expect the same fate if they decide to have a battle of wits with Mr. Limbaugh.
